Miriam Cohen testifies before the House of Commons

The Centre Block (in French: Édifice du Centre) is the main building of the Canadian parliamentary complex on Parliament Hill, in Ottawa, Ontario, containing the House of Commons and Senate chambers, as well as the offices of a number of members of parliament, senators, and senior administration for both legislative houses. On 16 November 2022, Professor Miriam Cohen was called to testify as an expert witness before the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons of Canada. 

The testimony took place in the context of the study of Bill S-223, An Act to Amend the Criminal Code and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (trafficking in human organs). She notably analyzed the international legal framework applicable to trafficking in human organs linked to the transnational activities of organized criminal groups.
