Miriam Cohen Awarded the 2022 Scholarly Book Award by the Canadian Council on International Law

We are proud to announce that Professor Miriam Cohen, chairholder of the Canada Research Chair in Human Rights and international Reparative Justice, has been awarded the 2022 Scholarly Book Award in the Canadian Council on International Law's Awards for Excellence in Scholarship competition.

This prize recognizes books that bring a significant contribution to international law literature. Professor Cohen's book, "Realizing Reparative Justice for International Crimes: From Theory to Practice", offers a concrete study of reparations in the area of international criminal justice, and illustrates how international criminal law can offer both criminal and reparative dimensions through an in-depth analysis of ICC cases and filings.

The Canadian Council on International Law writes that "Professor Miriam Cohen's book is a timely and important contribution to the field of international criminal law and international criminal justice. The unique focus of the book on reparations and the contour of reparative justice is fresh and innovative."
