The project ‘Dialoguer les droits humains’ funded by the DIALOGUE programme of the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ)

The Chair is proud to highlight Professor Miriam Cohen's project, Dialoguer les droits humains (Human Rights Dialogue), which has received funding from the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) under the DIALOGUE programme – researchers component – 2023-2024.

The overall objective of the ‘Dialoguer les droits humains’ project is to promote dialogue, through knowledge mobilisation activities, between science communicators, in this case law students, and different segments of the Quebec population, in order to equip them with the tools they need to protect their fundamental rights and seek redress in the event of violations. The specific objectives of this educational project are to engage in dialogue with the general public: on the one hand, it aims to train the next generation of young researchers in scientific communication methods that will enable them to share their research findings with the general public and, on the other hand, to promote the empowerment of the Quebec population by facilitating their access to law and justice through communication and knowledge mobilisation activities on fundamental rights in a way that is accessible and understandable to the general public. As part of the various planned activities, the general public will be able to engage in dialogue with the team about their fundamental rights.
