Café scientifique on means of protection and remedies in cases of discrimination in Quebec

The research team for the Dialoguer les droits humains project is pleased to announce a science café on means of protection and remedies in cases of discrimination in Quebec.

This scientific café is organized by the Dialogue project team: Miriam Cohen, project director and professor at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal; Sarah-Michèle Vincent-Wright, doctoral student in law at the Université de Montréal and project coordinator; Béatrice Grace-Castonguay, Bachelor of Law from the Université de Montréal and student at the Montreal Bar School; Olivia Deschênes, law graduate from the University of Montreal. In collaboration with Ms. Patricia Parent from the Côte-des-Neiges Intercultural Library and Me Karina Montminy from the Quebec Human Rights and Youth Rights Commission.

The Dialoguer les droits humains project, funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (DIALOGUE programme), is part of the activities of the Laboratoire sur les droits humains et la justice internationale, powered by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), under the direction of Professor Miriam Cohen.

  • Objective: To stimulate collective reflection and open discussion on discrimination, in relation to the experiences and concerns of the public.
  • Format: Popularised presentation in the form of a panel discussion followed by an interactive exchange with the public.
  • Duration: ±1 hour.
  • Date: Friday, 6 June 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Location: Côte-des-Neiges Intercultural Library, 6767 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, QC H3S 2T6.
