This interview with Professor Miriam Cohen and Maître Alexis Larivière will address the topic of victims in the context of international criminal justice. In this episode, the guests will discuss the history, philosophy and rationale of victim participation in international criminal justice. Guests will then discuss the rules and mechanisms for victim participation in pre-trial and trial proceedings before the International Criminal Court. They will then look at the important issue of reparations in all its forms for victims of international crimes, a right that has been evolving in recent years. Finally, the discussion will look at victims' rights and protection from a comparative perspective with Canadian domestic criminal law.
