Professor Miriam Cohen and doctoral candidate (LLD) Nouwagnon Olivier Afogo are the authors of the article The Contribution of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea to the Protection of Human Rights and the Public Interest at Sea.

They analyze the Tribunal's contribution to the Law of the Sea spectrum, particularly in cases where human rights or the public interest are at stake. In addition, the Tribunal strives to adapt its jurisprudence to developments in the Law of the Sea, including its less obvious aspects, such as the protection of human rights and the public interest at sea.

The article makes a timely contribution to a relatively under-examined corner of international law.
